Symptoms
The symptoms of Necrotizing Fasciitis often starts after an injury occurs, and if identified right away, you may need medical care immediately. One way to identify is if the pain gets better over 24 to 36 hours then suddenly gets worse (WebMD).
There are different types of Necrotizing Fasciitis. Type 1 occurs after trauma or surgery and form little amount of gas. Type 2 usually occurs after skin trauma such as cuts, abrasions, and insect bites. Type 3 usually occurs after wounds become contaminated with dirt that contains Clostridium bacteria, which produce gas in tissues (also called gangrene) and necrotic eschars (MedicineNet).

- Fever and chills
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Severe pain
- Skin breakage
- Leakage of fluids
- Blackening or death of skin
- Dizziness
